Understanding VJ Translations
Video Jockeying (VJ) is a recognized cultural practice in Uganda and East Africa where commentators provide live or recorded Luganda-language translations and cultural commentary for films. This practice:
- Is a legitimate form of cultural expression in Uganda
- Involves licensed VJs who are recognized professionals
- Adds original creative value through translation and commentary
- Serves educational and cultural purposes
We work with VJs who operate within legal frameworks and respect content creators' rights.
Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice
If you believe that content on our platform infringes your copyright, please send us a DMCA takedown notice with the following information:
- Your Contact Information: Full legal name, physical address, email address, and phone number
- Identification of Copyrighted Work: Description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
- Location of Infringing Content: Specific URL(s) where the allegedly infringing material is located
- Good Faith Statement: A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized
- Accuracy Statement: A statement that the information in the notice is accurate
- Authorization Statement: A statement that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner

Counter-Notification
If you believe your content was wrongly removed, you may file a counter-notification containing:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the removed content and its former location
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the content was removed by mistake

- Consent to the jurisdiction of your local federal court
- A statement that you will accept service of process from the complainant
Our Response Process
Upon receiving a valid DMCA notice, we will:
- Acknowledge Receipt: Within 24 hours of receiving your notice
- Review the Claim: Evaluate the validity of the takedown request
- Take Action: Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content
- Notify the Uploader: Inform the content uploader of the takedown
- Document the Process: Keep records of all DMCA actions
We aim to respond to valid takedown requests within 48-72 hours.
Repeat Infringer Policy
In accordance with the DMCA, we maintain a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, users who are repeat infringers of copyright.
- First offense: Warning and content removal
- Second offense: Temporary account suspension
- Third offense: Permanent account termination
